Dr. Wayne H. Choe
Dr. Wayne H. Choe joined Tystar Corporation in November 2009 as Chief Executive Officer. He is the founder and CEO of the Institute of Advanced Technology, a R&D and technology consulting company. Dr. Choe received a Ph.D from M.I.T. in 1985.
Dr. Klaus K. Schuegraf
Dr. Klaus K. Schuegraf has more than 40 years experience in semiconductor technology, fabrication equipment and manufacturing technology. He has international executive experience with a proven track record in companies such as AEG-Telefunken, IBM, Northrop, TRW, Tylan and Westinghouse. He holds a Ph.D. from the Technical University in Stuttgart, Germany, and has occupied key managerial positions since 1962. In addition to his successful supervision of the development of new devices and equipment, he has spearheaded sales teams in customer contacts and helped close significant major orders. Klaus Schuegraf has been co-chairman of the SEMI Standards Committee on Equipment Automation. He has taught several courses in integrated circuit technology at UCLA and is the author of numerous technical articles. He is the editor of the Handbook of Thin Film Deposition Processes and Techniques, published in 1988.
Jon C.S. Liaw

Jon C.S. Liaw has more than 30 years management experience and executive experience in accounting, business administration, procurement, sales and marketing at several companies, both in Taiwan, R.O.C. and the United States. From 1966 to 1967, he was Accounting Officer at the Chinese Airforce Academy. From 1968 to1976 he was associated with the Formosa Plastics Group, Taipei, R.O.C. as procurement and sales manager. In 1977 Jon Liaw became President of Jet Song International Co., Ltd., an export and import company with offices in Taipei, R.O.C. and Los Angeles, CA. Jon Liaw received a B. S. degree in Business Administration from the National Taiwan University, Taipei, R.O.C. in 1966.
Henry N. Heidbreder
Henry N. Heidbreder has more than 25 years experience in the engineering, manufacturing and servicing of major semiconductor and fiber optics manufacturing equipment. For several years he was project engineer at Tylan Corporation, Semiconductor Equipment Division with experience in equipment design, installation, and troubleshooting. His prior experience includes electronic testing and process control engineering for a major independent optical fiber manufacturing company. He is a specialist in electronic systems design and computer control systems. Heidbreder received a Bachelor Degree in Electronics from San Francisco State University.
James K. Smith
Director of Business Development
James K. Smith has more than 25 years management experience in engineering and manufacturing in different industries, predominantly chemical vapor deposition. He has worked in the manufacturing, engineering and research departments for Super Temp Co., Hitco and Tylan Corporation. He was on the initial team to develop and prove out the TYTAN diffusion furnace system. At Hitco he was responsible for implementing the engineering aspects of their MRPII system. Jim received his Bachelors Degree from Cal State University Long Beach as well as degrees in mathematics and electronic technology from Long Beach City College.
Dr. Fred S. Thomas
Senior Research Scientist
Dr. Fred S. Thomas joined Tystar Corporation in July 2010. Previously, he was working for the Air Force Research Laboratory on research projects involving chemical processes and reactor design. At the Institute of Advanced Technology he researched microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition of nanocrystalline diamond films. He earned a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a B.S. in chemical engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
